Introductory Workshops

Engaging Students in International Issues: The Choices Approach

Led by a local Teaching Fellow or a Choices staff member, introductory workshops are designed to introduce teachers to Choices curriculum units and approach. The program fee generally includes lunch and two Choices units explored during the day.

Our workshops are participatory, so come ready to be engaged and inspired!

Each Choices Introductory Workshop Includes:

Cost: Most workshops are $145 per person. Price includes two units ($80 value), lunch, and a certificate of completion. A limited number of partial scholarships are available for pre-service teachers. Districts wishing to register 5 or more educators will receive a discount. Contact Mimi Stephens for details.

To register for a workshop using a purchase order, email a signed PO to choices@brown.edu and include the names and emails of the educators that will be attending.

Who Should Attend: History, geography, government, current issues, AP, IB, civics and other social studies educators are the main audience for these workshops. Materials are appropriate for grades 7-12. Humanities teachers often use our materials and are encouraged to attend. We welcome teamed ELA and social studies teachers to attend together.
