International Education Internship

The International Education Internship is an initiative of the Choices for the 21st Century Education Program at Brown University. This full-time internship enables one recent college graduate each year to spend a year working as part of a team focused on strengthening international content and civic learning within the core curriculum at the secondary level in the United States. The intern works in the Choices Program office in Providence, RI.

Timeframe & Salary: The International Education Internship is a one-year appointment. The internship runs summer to summer. Salary ($2,000/mo) and benefits are provided.

Qualifications: Applicants should have the following qualifications.

  • A demonstrated interest in international issues
  • An intention to enter the secondary education field
  • Strong communication, organization, research, and writing skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Creativity, energy, patience, and reliability
  • Professional, energetic, and polished demeanor
  • Bachelors degree required

    We recommend that you include one reference from someone who knows your academic work, one from someone who knows your extracurricular interests, and one from someone who knows something about your motivations. Most importantly, please choose three people who together will give us the best picture of who you are and why you are a good fit for this internship. Reference letters can be submitted separately to the address below.
