M. Dawn King is a Senior Lecturer and Director of Undergraduate Studies at Brown University’s Institute for Environment and Society. She earned her PhD in Environmental Politics at Colorado State University and focuses her research and teaching on urban agriculture and local food systems, state and local food politics, and urban energy and sustainability policy. Her current research investigates policy solutions to reduce and store greenhouse gasses through sustainable agriculture, with a focus on justly transitioning to a carbon-neutral society. She currently serves as the chair of Red Tomato’s Board of Trustees and previously served as chair of the Rhode Island Food Policy Council.
